Facility:
Mounted training is hosted by Jackson County at the Conrad-Mallette Multipurpose Arena. The address is 5400 Ball Park Road Vancleave, MS 39565. Horses will be stabled on the grounds of the CM Arena inside 12 x 12 stalls at the back side of the arena. You are responsible for feeding and watering your own horse. You may bring bagged shavings or purchase them locally. Be sure to bring a wheelbarrow. RV hookups are available for $20 per night.

Tack & Equipment, required:
Bridle, Saddle, Girth or cinch, Saddle blanket, Helmet with chin strap, Boots with heel for training, riot equipment (if available).
Stabling Supplies:
Halter, Lead rope(s), Hay net, Water Buckets, Feed Bucket, Grooming kit, Feed scoop, Feed, Any supplements (bran, hoof care, vitamins,etc.), 10-12” length of chain with heavy duty snap (to secure stall), First Aid supplies for horses (cleansing agent, wound dressing, etc.), Manure fork, wheelbarrow.
Horse Care-optional
Shampoo, Sponge, Small bucket, Sweat scraper, Fly spray, Stable blanket or sheet, Bute paste or tablets, Liniment, Leg bandages, Chains / straps to hang feed and water buckets from stall panels. Any items you need or regularly use for your horse.

Training will begin Monday June 10th and continue through Thursday June 13th 2019 at the Conrad Mallette Riding Arena, 5400 Ball Park Road, Vancleve MS 39565. Class is limited to 30 participants. Helmets are required for horse mounted participants.
Cost: Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association website. Registration opens April 2, 2018. The 2019 MLEOA Conference is set at the Scarlet Pearl Casino in D'Iberville Mississippi for June 9-14, 2019. The association will pay for the first 50 rooms (Mississippi Officers only) who make reservations. Instructor: John Dalziel has 30 years’ experience as a mounted officer and riding instructor. Retired from the London Metropolitan Mounted Police, he was master instructor there for 17 years. During his mounted career, John served as an officer, riding instructor, and unit horse trainer. He was retained by the Saudi Arabian National Guard with the rank of "Major" and the title of "Riding Master." John is an accredited riding instructor and trainer with the Classical Riding Club, UK. His classical riding experience encompasses dressage, show jumping, and cross-country. John is the UK Director/Riding Master for the National Mounted Training Group.
