The Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer’s Association will be hosting its annual conference on June 14 through June 16, 2016. The conference will address several training areas, one of which will be The First 3 Seconds. The same class will be offered on the 14th and 15th so you have two opportunities to attend.
Surviving The First Three Seconds: Characteristics of an Armed Combative Subject.
Surviving the first three seconds is a program that is designed to take the reactionary gap off of the officer and put it back onto the suspect. This is done through a 5 step program that focuses on:
1.Identifying armed individuals through body language indicators.
2.Identifying armed individuals through clothing indicators.
3. Street level interrogation skills.
4. Street level lie detection skills.
5.Identifying assaultive indicators through body language and verbal indicators.
Trooper Robbie Roberston
Robby Robertson is a Master Trooper with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, He has worked for the NCSHP for 9 years. He is a trainer in SCAT, Defensive Tactics, Officer Survival, Force on Force, Taser and Patrol Combatives. Master Trooper Robertson has been on FBI and CID Teams and is on the use of force board for the Patrol. He has been the lead instructor on Surviving the First 3 Seconds in over 200 agencies across the United States. Trooper Robertson is currently assigned to the Training Academy in Raleigh.
