The Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer’s Association will be hosting its annual conference on June 8 through June 12, 2015. The conference will address several training areas, one of which will be Grade Crossing Collision Investigation (GCCI). This will be a four (4) hour course designed for law enforcement officers who may respond to railroad incidents within their jurisdiction. Railroads, motorist, and pedestrians have specific legal responsibilities at highway-rail grade crossings. A goal of this course is to bring a clear understanding of these responsibilities to law enforcement officers and the challenges associated with safely responding to, and investigating crossing collisions.
